Amy Nelson, Team Support Specialist
Amy is a good Gen Xer. Self-reliant. Resourceful. Balanced. No bucket list to speak of because she’s simply learned to go-with-the-flow. If she were pushed to add something to a list, she’d likely mention exploring the fjords and forests of Norway, or dining al fresco somewhere overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Of course, as a good Gen Xer, she’d be pragmatic about her wishlist adventures.
Always a studious adolescent, Amy thoughtfully considered her future and settled on becoming a nurse in order to be of service. She attended Concordia College, Moorhead where this idea soon collided with Organic Chemistry—not a happy collision. In contrast, she loved her Intro to Drawing course. Amy decided to go in a different direction: two and a half hours northeast to Bemidji State University where she graduated with a BS in Graphic Design/Print Production.
From there, Amy’s work experience—most often in the role of Account Manager and/or Project Manager—was full of fascinating turns. From meeting her husband at her very first job out of college at a graphic design/print shop, to global travels and friendships while working for a well-established advertising agency. Through it all, Amy kept learning. About hospitality, about branding, about various products, the list goes on. And, in 2008, she learned some especially impactful information: she was going to have twins! Her most important work was about to begin.
Now 13 years later, traveling a little east from her home in Golden Valley where she loves to garden and follow home improvement shows, Amy returns to the workforce excited to learn all she can about the floor covering industry. Add hardworking, adaptable, and fun to Amy’s list of attributes, and you’ve got one welcome addition to the INTERSOURCE team.
